My Favorite of the Month

This one qualifies... Mainly because I've just about sold most of my other coins and this is one of those permanent coins in my collection...

This one is graded 67 brown but blue green is more accurate.

WOW What a look!!!!

 

Is that silver? How do you think it toned like that?

The sea-green color extends about 3/4 around the rim, then fades to red. The center is almost blast white.

 

I really need to invest in some better photography equipment.

Actually its a copper pattern half dollar. Some of my favorite toning is on proof copper. This particular coin is the finest of 3 known and really has to be seen to appreciate. The color scheme changes with the light angle and the mirrors are super deep.

When I bought this last weekend I didn't notice the subtle toning at first. It wasn't unitl I was photgraphing the coin and trying to capture the luster that I noticed it. It's barely beginning on the reverse - but much more prevalent on the obverse. I don't feel too bad though - Hoot missed it too
