storage security

What is the best way to securely store one's collection to minimize theft. Obviously, a built-in safe is best but I work as a traveler and have no permanent resident. I do have a 150 lb St. Bernard though. He'd make anyone think twice about breaking in. I like access to my collection so a safe-deposit box is not desirable. Thanks for any suggestions.

Safety Deposit box and a good scanner. Scan the coins, and look at the pics. If you are gone for extended periods of time, even large safes can be cracked pretty quickly, and the small ones are just picked up and cracked later.
