  1. So I went to my first coin show in Long Beach last weekend, it was pretty awesome. I got to talk to some of the dealers, sold some stuff, bought some stuff. But I'm still unclear on the grading process. I see guys selling one coin graded MS65 and 2 booths down the same coin in the same condition is a MS63 neither were slabbed. Graded by an anonymous person. So what's the trick? Going off of The Red Book id say this is an MS63? The pictures are not the greatest but any tips, would be greatly appreciated.
  2. How would I go about finding an appraiser, does anyone have any recommendations in the Los Angeles area? What would you think the cost of something like that would be?
  3. What do you think about these? Close to Spot price?
  4. I actually own 4 of the 61's. 2 are in ok condition, nothing I would grade the others are a PSA 6 and an PSA8 , the one pictured graded 6. Thank you for your input, this coin collecting isn't as easy as collecting cardboard pictures
  5. Thanks for all the input on my other posts I really appreciate. Here's another question, Is there anything special about these that I should be looking out for? Are they gradable? Should they be graded? Value anything other than spot silver prices? My reasoning is, I took a 1921 Dos Peso Plata Pura to a dealer and they highly suggested that it should be graded and should receive a 63 or better, and after searching eBay I found that they sell for a pretty decent amount.
  6. I'm going to be going to the Long Beach show , does anyone know if NGC will be doing live grading? Being a card collector I know that Beckett and PSA have been know to do live grading at some of the bigger shows.
  7. He said the D looked altered, I said the coin would probably grade just above good why alter it?
  8. No I didn't. My father in law was the collector, I'm just slowly going threw all his stuff, trying to see what's what.
  9. Hello, What do you guys think, should I send this in for grading? I'm still very new to collecting and have a lot to learn. To me this looks like it may grade F or maybe VF. Please let me know your opinion. Thanks
  10. So long story short , I inherited my father in-laws collection, unfortunately all the slabs are sold he did that some years back. So I was left with a whole bunch of what do I do with these. I'm not a collector of Coins, so I'm pretty lost when it comes to their value, PCSG, NGC, USAcoinbook.com and eBay seem to be my only source of their value. I have found a shop that has helped me out but I have a feeling he's making a little more profit off me then someone whos in the know. He has told me that I have some coins that I should get graded ASAP. But then told me 1 of them was a fake and if I wanted to sell it he would buy it for significantly less then book or eBay value. So I guess my question is where can I go for prices of ungraded coins, either locally or on the internet. Thank you in advance
