  6. I agree and dealers know what they have and what it is worth. I find it is always a good practice to ask you guys for Ideas ,I always look for nice big rounds and proof sets, but hearing your comments gets me thinking of other coins to keep a eye out for like Lem's 1960 D and Hoghead quarters.All good stuff. in my price range with any luck .. LoL Thanks
  7. Ya I may need a few more C's for one of those sweeties.
  8. Thanks for the tip Coinbuf I will keep a eye out for oddballs, I was at one shop a while back and they had three good looking trays of Morgans a $40 ,$50,+ $75 tray.It was cool to see them laid out like that.But it would take me forever to pick out good raw coins like that LOL
  9. Ya it looks real cool. But it is hard to say for sure. I find I have to look at the new coins from so many different angles the reflections play tricks with the microscope.
  10. Hi All . I am going shopping to some of the coin dealers around the Charlotte NC area tomorrow.I am always look for odd stuff but wanted to ask you guys and gals thoughts on (What's Hot). Like a date or mint mark Morgans I should be keeping a eye out for maybe?. I know everyone has different tastes in coins they like but any thoughts of coins to keep a look out for would be awesome, any help would be appreciated. and it may turn out to be a fun topic
  11. Yes it is sad that people can take something innocent and turn it into something dark, The organisation trained young men to be your best do your duty and be respectable to others it was a American Legacy, I was a Boy Scout before all the hoopla and one of my Grandsons just got his Eagle Scout Award not long ago. I am not into commemorative coins (so far LoL) but i was a good deal. So this will be his coin after I am gone.
  12. Well another nice find today a antique dealer had some nice commemorative coins so I picked up this anniversary issue of the Boy Scouts of America for $25
  13. We had a good time and I think we got a good enough deal at $35 a coin. I had a option of 3 cases and decided on this one it was more money but it made the coin more presentable and held the coin tighter than the other type cases.
  14. She did like the gold I think that will be next on the list. I am in luck she had a good time looking at the coins. a $1299.00 gold Indian head did catch her eye
  15. Well today the wife and I went coin shopping at a real nice coin shop in Nashville and we got some big coins. My wife said what are the shiny coins over there? So we decided to get two of them ,the first year and the last year
  16. I can see the whole date it runs off on a little angle all the numbers are in-between the good ones. To bad the coin is toast.
  17. Welcome Marilyn Golden I am also new here. Enjoy your time here it is very informative and everyone is pleasant to talk with.
  18. I told you all I would let you know what I found in the 2 rolls of wheat pennies I got from the bank and if there were any keepers... Quintus Arrius said.. They're all keepers in my book. And the fact you got them now, some 60 years after they were made is nothing less than extraordinary. So here is some that are worth at least $1. The 1956 BIE may be worth $5 the last 4 pictures are a 1946 penny on a copper dime size stock planchet it weighs 2.04 g not sure if it is worth much . It was punched without much of a rim on it so it has been worn down a lot through the years. But still very cool to find it
  19. Well well well, this is another example of why I love to roll hunt. This must have been a collection and someone just started rolling stuff up. Remember I said I had not seen and 2009 in a while well in one of the bank rolls I got yesterday with 2 rolls of all wheat's there was this roll of primo pennies. 2008 the last year of the Lincoln memorial a bunch of all 4 of the 2009 Lincoln Formative Years pennies and a bunch of 2010 first year of the shield cents, Also there were no other years but these 3 and most in MS condition
  20. This is what I love about roll hunting where I live, Look at color of the coins in this roll I got from the bank yesterday. Every one is a Wheatie this is the stuff that makes it fun. I will let you know if I find any keepers in my Cherry pickers Post
  21. Yes the Red Book it is not something I would purchase every year. Now days the internet makes it so easy to look up coins but seeing it has been a while I think it is time for a new book. Some of the prices may have changed by now.
  22. Well I ordered my new Red Book today. It will be here some time before the end of the week or the end of May
  23. I still look every day... Ya never know...LoL
  24. Found another 2009 today but I will have to wait 40 years for it to be all the same color.{ Not to likely at my age}
