  1. Nice it may not mean much to others but it will to your family. I think you did ok at $27.40 you are still 60 cents below current market value . Plus they could go higher you never know down the road a collector may see that look of disgust that Jefferson has on his face in the 1974 set knowing he was not going to get the 1776-1976 date on his coin in 1975 & 1976.
  2. I also thought it looked like a S over S
  3. Yes all my working life I had jars and cans some with wheat pennies and some with pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters all key dates and oddities that I would look at later in life .Well I am retired now and you wont believe what I found.. Lots of spare change , Not much lots of maybes. There was some keepers but not as much as I thought there would be. I am not saying to it was a loss. It is a hobby. I still keep all my wheat's and silver you never know and any true copper. I also roll hunt every day I can. The fact is there are still keepers out there somewhere and some day someone's kid may spend there dads 1960 D MSFS on a candy bar and one day we may get lucky Always have faith in you mission and keep looking. If you are new here welcome. The members here are the nicest around and know there stuff.
  4. I saw a YouTube not long ago on a guy that was showing a bunch of Graded slab coins all fake like the labels looked real but were thin paper were not locked down in the corners and were pealing and stuff like NGC slabs interlock so you can stack them and the fake slabs did not lock just slid apart from each other. I wish there was some way to stop this .People who don't know enough are just getting %$#*@ and it will come back to bite the honest collector.
  5. That is what I wanted to ask you all??? What will take off the glue left behind from scotch tape without hurting the coin and wont be considered a cleaned coin. I see it on coins all the time.
  6. Lucky me I found 2 more 81S CAM's today at another shop what is cool is one background is black and the other Blue. Did not get the $5 a peace deal this time I had to pay $7.95 a peace LOL ... Still a good deal in my book
  7. You got some cool looking stuff . It looks like leaving the coins in the flips toned them out a lot.
  8. I am sure Most of the members here have one or two steel 1943 pennies I have half a dozen One that is almost to nice to be real a 43 S, and some normal ones. But a 44 Steel is like finding a 43 Copper . If it is to good to be true it probably is.
  9. My Dad was in the Navy in WWII on a Sub Chaser. He was the chief cook so when they weren't Hunting or cooking the guys would make things out of what ever was junk on the ship . He took a cigarette can and some leather and some punch tools and made this for himself. He showed me stuff the guys would make like carvings and stuff made out of silver coins it was amazing the things they could make. I got the tin because we have the same name JPM
  10. Not to many Kennedy Half's sell for 5 figures was it like this one. https://www.pcgs.com/auctionprices/item/1964-d-50c/6707/2176709371730767830
  11. Not many were known to be around it could be the real deal. It is hard to tell from the photo but the 4 on the end does not look like the other 4. I am no expert that is for sure you may want to take it to someone local before sending it off
  12. Good looking girl must be a redhead with all those freckles
  13. This is my first Girlfriend the lady who started this whole thing she was in my old coin tin. She is a bit beat up but we been together since 1962. I think the tin is worth more than the lady LoL it is a WWII 100 count Chesterfield cigarette can
  14. For a Dollar each you bet, the gasket holds the coin from moving around and they snap together tight so you can handle the coin with no worries and you can take them apart if need be.
  15. I go here to look first before I post anything https://www.doubleddie.com/721634.html
  16. I posted before that My wife liked the Silver Eagles we got in TN.. So she said to get one coin for every date a Grandchild and Great Grandchild was born so Wednesday I ordered 14 of them and went to pick them up today 70 miles away. Well when I got there they were all ready set aside for me. I asked if I could inspect them first and they said sure. Granted these are mostly older coins I ordered, but out of the 14 coins 10 were scratched or had some toning spots or ticks on them. I hope I did not make anyone mad at me but I asked for replacements. They made a trip to the store room once and 6 came back good .I sent the bad ones back and they came back with 2 more good ones. Out of the original order for 14 We ended up with 8 good Eagles and I bought the nice holders for them also . I apologized for being such a fussy B and the dealer laughed. I said ya that is kinda funny I am sure lots of collectors are. I told him I would call Monday and put in a replacement order for the ones that were bad. I have to say these guys and gals went all out to make it right for me and my wife. Does anyone think I was to fussy ?? I am eventually (coughs,, My Wife is) going to have the full collection and scratched coins are not on my list.
