  1. I just got a 1999 ASE that I needed for my Grandchildren's collection. It has some very light milk spots on it I chose the spots over 4 other coins that had nicks or scratches kind of the lesser of two evils. As long as they don't get darker it will be fine but I think they will eventually.
  2. Well I found a In God We Rust Quarter not a very good one but I will keep it.
  3. Thanks DWLange, I learn something new every day. I don't post something unless I have multiple copies of the coin. I have 6 or more of each of these finds all the same that is why I thought it was something wrong with the Die.
  4. WE. Have a winner. The 2021 penny has a crack under WE that makes two oddities for the new one the other was the hair out of place I call the pony tail.
  5. I am new here also and I learn something new every day. I am what you call a Cherry Picker. I roll hunt for coins with imperfection's all the time. Some times you find cool things and sometimes you find just PMD ..Post Mint Damage.. they call it. But It is still a great hobby and I hope you will like it here.
  6. Just joking with you Tony. Welcome to the forum. Like Mike said it happens a lot in the same spot on coins. After looking at a few thousands you will see a lot of similarity's
  7. The girls and guys down the bank know what I like and always ask if I want the older rolls. When I bring rolls back that I have searched they always ask if I had look at them they don't look opened LoL the one on the left is a factory roll and the one on the right is a reroll.
  8. Not everyone likes coins like me so I figure Eagles work good some years are already higher collector wise and and you can always get bullion price whatever it is I would hope. I am thinking by the time I am gone the price will be up enough so everyone will be happy. If it keeps going the way it has in the last 3 weeks it will be $30 before you know it.
  9. It was in a customer roll. A good spacer I think. Not as good as that washer I found
  10. Sorry Woods, I just got 4 of the last 7 needed coming at $39 with the airtight holders and the last 3 I will most likely get local. All these coins are BS also I just like the holders to keep them safer.
  11. Yes the bullion price as of 12:30 today EST is $27.55 ,but the gray book for the ASE coin price was $36 the week before and then $39 last weekend who's to say what will happen this week
  12. Well we completed the set Saturday of 14 Eagles for the birthdates of the grandchildren and the wife said we are so close now we may as well finish off the set ? Are you sure 1986 to 2021 ....I said ok so we got 20 it took a while to get that many good ones now we have 7 more to find and hand picking is so time consuming. I can't believe how easily the raw coins get marked up right from the mint. I may just order the last 7 from from one of the direct mint dealers I know. I want to get them before the price goes up again, in one week they went up $3 each.
  13. I have found what your coin may have looked like a while back Sharann. This was in a roll I opened up today. I think mine is going to grade much higher than yours when I send it in.
  14. Well I found the 1998 set today it was not $5 but $7.95 is still ok in my book
  15. Very cool Oldhoopster. I always learn something new every day here. So that would mean it came off the line that way not PMD.
  16. I found this little PMD oddity. looks like some clad is missing. What do ya think a bad bond of the clad layer, blow torch or a massive chemical spill
  17. I found my first Weir Farm V75 W today. The 4 others I have are Tall Grass Prairie. I was beginning to wonder if there were any left to pick up. I don't think the V75 punch is going to last on the coin in circulation very long I could barely see it only a year later?
  18. I just started collecting the ASE and I think they are a great looking coin. I find for my pocket they are more reasonable than most older coins price wise and some are worth more than others already. Don't get me wrong I still love it when I find a deal on a good looking Morgan or Peace or any Silver for that matter Who is to say what something will be worth down the road. I remember the 2000 New Hampshire quarter came out and the next year 2001 The Old Man of the Mountain fell down. I started saving the pocket change quarters in hopes that they would be keepers some day. I have $70 worth of quarters and that is all there worth, So ya never know LoL
  19. Son of a Gun Bill you got me thinking that I had not picked up mint sets 74, 77, 80, 98,of my 4 girls. I got three today still need a 1998 for the last one.
  20. That is very cool. I was wondering if NGC had a price chart for Proof and Mint sets, If so could you please post a link DWLange Thank you ,JP
  21. You should be able to sand that paint off with a good multi tool.
