  1. He has a team of mules listed. All dead and in body bags
  2. This is one of the best I have seen. I have reported and hopefully it gets pulled. This seller has 53 insane “error” listings for insane prices. I am taking the time to report most of them. However this is one that really made me laugh. This thing looks like it was trampled by a team of mules instead of a mule. And it is body bagged because PCGS doesn’t grade mules. Yours for the low low price of $49,999.99 and free shipping! www.ebay.com/itm/394036629106?hash=item5bbe69ce72:g:BvoAAOSwRy5iVJXx
  3. It’s not that I necessarily enjoy it, it’s more that it’s a reality of collecting today. And as long as there is a return policy I’m fine with buying from a reputable source online. I would venture to guess that well over 50% of coins purchased today are online either auctions or online web sales. I’m afraid LCS will be a thing of the past before too long. Talking to most dealers these days they say if it wasn’t for walk ins to sell collections they wouldn’t have a store front. I sell online and it isn’t to rip anyone off it’s to reach customers. I have a no questions asked return policy. If you aren’t happy I’m not happy. I’m not trying to use trick photography to sell coins.
  4. Not unusual. Some look better, some look worse. I’ve been photographing a ton of coins lately and it’s a real struggle. Toning, for me, is impossible to get perfect. Mine come out way more muted than it is in hand. I’ve tried everything and the dang slabs reflecting light make it almost impossible. On the other hand many sellers seem to max out saturation and vibrance and it in no way reflects the coin. It’s the downside of online buying, but like it or hate it, it’s here to stay.
  5. I bought the Fuld book on Civil War tokens today from a collector parting with it. If I see good books used I generally snap them up.
  6. Haha perfect. Since you only showed the obverse I was making sure. Adolph Weinman's initials fool some people. That is the W you are seeing on the obverse. Its actually AW intertwined.
  7. Can you post front and back of the one without cameo attribution? Try to fill the screen with the image.
  8. Can you post some close ups of the lettering? I want to see how the lines go under/over/or within the letters. I think that will tell us a lot.
  9. Also consider that enough of these occur to receive a name for the cause (Dryer coins). These are quite common, and could be caused by several things, but they are all referred to as simply dryer coins. I assure you it is not an error. The only error is in the logic that if multiples exist it must be an error.
  10. Now that I am up and running a few months I wanted to entice my NGC friends into adding a new trusted dealer to their list . For the remainder of the month of April if you purchase a coin from me, you will receive an additional NGC slabbed coin for free. The freebies will range from state quarters in MS 67 to other modern coins in good grades. Just put a note in the order or PM me here and I will make sure it gets included in the shipment. I have added a lot of new inventory this week. Check out my website: Home | Woods Rare Coins

  12. I like these pics better as well. I don't think it is a bad buy at all. Very nice.
  13. I was going to say 66 as well. But I see why you don’t love it.
  14. I have been picking up a lot of reference books as of late. Mostly focused on variety attribution across bust and seated coinage with a few exceptions. I’m in the market for some copper reference material. I have little knowledge and reference materials for early copper, and I need to remedy that. As an aside has anyone heard any updates on the new volumes of cherry pickers? At this point it’s kind of a joke to even ask any more.
  15. Kudos to NGC for this. They certainly didn’t have to do this for free given it may not have originally been noted. That is customer service at its finest.
  16. I agree with others I just see MD. This can be one of the more challenging thing for newer collectors to learn the difference between MD and die doubling. Some are blatantly obvious, and some are more nuanced like added thickness for example. You were given some great resources. At some point I’m going to make a short video on this, but haven’t gotten around to it. I think it would help a lot of new collectors to get a thorough explanation with visual examples.
  17. I would soak it in acetone as well. It appears to have some active PVC damage (the green stuff) and it will cause major problems in time with the coin. In fact there is quite a bit and I would venture to guess NGC would not slab it because of that.
  18. The only potential candidate would be the 86-O. These pictures I have a feeling are deceiving. Can you post more of that coin without any editing? Based on these it would go AU, and worth $250-$400 or so depending on grade. However I can’t see if there is cleaning or can’t see fine detail well at all in these pics.
  19. I think he legitimately thinks that die crack was part of the intended design to signify the bathroom incident. But that happened before takeoff and evaporated in the high oxygen environment almost immediately. It wasn’t running down his leg on the moon 😂. But to him that die crack is intentional
  20. He looks like a bad . The viet cong didn’t want to mess with that dude 😂
  21. You don’t want to fly in the clouds. It’s turbulent in them. There is usually two cloud layers. One lower and one higher. Most of the time you go above both, but it just depends on how high they are
  22. That and based on weather. The air will be smoother/rougher at different altitudes. But mainly it has to do with air traffic control. Most commercial flights seem to cruise at say 31k-40k feet. I rarely see it go below that unless we really need to find good air. And I think service ceiling on most commercial jets is just over 40k. Like 42/45k. I’m far from a pilot but I’ve heard all about it from living on planes for many years
  23. Are you a pilot? That is seeming to be one thing I always planned to do and haven’t. Not sure if I ever will, but have wanted to for years. I have grown to hate travel. Do it all the time and you get nauseated thinking of lugging through another airport, more delayed flights, red eyes after long work meetings. It gets old real real fast.
