  1. Hey everyone. I've been trying to find out what exactly this is considered, as I have never come across anything like it. But I'm leaning towards an interior die break maybe or lamination error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The coin has the normal wear you would see on a coin this old. The reverse doesn't seem to have any other damage besides the massive break across the whole thing.
  2. Hoping to find out any type of information on this coin. I have never come across anything like it before. That is the actual color of coin, silver/grey. The only places where copper color is visible is on the cheek of Lincoln and in a few spots on the outter edges of coin. Not sure if this is a grease filled die maybe? or what exactly is going on with it. the reverse of coin almost resembles the reverse of an Indian Head cent. but i dont see that being a possibility. Any type of help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced. Ohh i did weight the coin, its 3.1 grams. I know copper should be 3.11g my scale doesn't read to the thousandth.
  3. was wondering if anybody could shed some light on this for me. I haven't been collecting for very long. and I'm still trying to distinguish the difference between hub doubling and a double die. this 1958 would be hub doubling, correct? But is this also considered hub doubling? this is not the same coin. this is a 1956 wheat. reason i posted it in this forum. sorry if i maybe should have just started a new thread?? I haven't come across any information saying that there is a double die for 1956-D any help would be much appreciated.
  4. That is what i had thought just wanted to make sure. thank you very much for the info
  5. I've been searching all over the internet trying to find information out about a 1955-S wheat cent error coin. Its not the normal double die variety. on the reverse of the coin where it reads Untied States of America the first "S" in states is missing. the coin itself in in relatively good shape and it does not appear to be just rubbed off. all the other lettering is strong. curious as to know if it would be worth getting the coin graded.
