    Thanks, yeah, it does look like that. The raised bumps made me think it was something else - wouldn't expect to find that under the copper.

    Curious to hear opinions on this penny I found in pocket change. Its color is gray/pewter and it has what looks like doubling with raised bumps in sort of a vertical streak. I've never seen anything like it. Is it counterfeit or some strange error?
