I purchased it with a few others but it wasn't the one I was interested in. Just came with the lot. And it wasn't advertised as an error. I just saw three eyeballs instead of one and became curious. Thanks for the help!

Thank you and I will look for info on photography of shiny objects. Discounting this particular coin, are prooflike business strikes common? Thank you again. Much appreciated!

Typo. IGWT. Not isn't sorry.

Good afternoon everyone. I ran across this coin and it caught my eye because of the nice finish on it. I thought it was a proof until noticing the d mintmark. After looking even closer I thought maybe it might be a doubled die.
I still am puzzled by what is and isn't considered notching. I found no information on any of the sites but thought it would be wise to check with the experts just in case. My questions are, 1- Is there something unusual about a business strike looking this nice? And 2- Are the offsets I see in isn't notches, or just common MD? Thanks a bunch in advance for your time and assistance!

Yes. I checked variety vista and coppercoins but saw nothing. The upper right of the memorial was the main thing that I wondered about. Would that be considered a large or average die chip? Thanks.

Yes, I thought it was a d as well at first. I just found one on coppercoins that looks similar, but there example is more beat up than this one. Hard to tell anything. Thanks for looking. Got my curiosity going.

I understand. I thought perhaps it was struck on another coin and some remnants were showing through. Thanks for looking.

Good morning everyone. I ran across this today and have racked my brain trying to figure it out. I have circled the areas in question. I think I am seeing letters and numbers in these as well as a possible second earlobe southwest of the normal one. Is there anything to any of it? I have looked at several sites but found nothing remarkable listed about this variety. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank in advance.

Good afternoon. This coin looked odd to me when I received it in change a few minutes ago. I took these photo's in order to get a closer look. It appears to be struck through a handful of miscellaneous hardware. Nuts, bolts, screws etc. The close up is at the base of the bust but if you look closely, you will find hardware items all over both front and back. I am curious as to how this may have occurred. Could the equipment have disinterested and caused this or did a mint employee toss a handful of junk into the works? I know it's just speculation but thought those of you with experience may have a different perspective. Also, would it be possible to remove the surface goo without technically cleaning it? And I am also trying to determine if it was struck more than once. Lastly, would I describe it as struck though hardware? You thoughts are welcome and appreciated!
