@Coinbuf I never did that before. Just send them in and get told no. Has kinda turned me off from submissions.

@Coinbuf placement is all wrong and plusit doesn't have the markers anyway.
@Greenstang that's what I am hearing but hard to believe there'd be one unnoticed for all these years.

Hey y'all. I gotta say y'all now cause I know there's another regular gal in here that I had assumed was a guy. Oops!
So I have this 69S that I think is an RPM. I've gotten mixed responses on it because the Obverse IS full of MD of which a couple of letters look like a DD. But I'm good with it being MD but as far as the MM is concerned I'm just not sure. There are a couple of listings that almost match but the markers don't match. So if y'all could take a look and tell me what you think that'd be great. Thanks a bunch.

@Moxie15 I think you offer great advice and I hope @Regilyn is taking the time to view these notifs full of great info and lots of personality, but I would skip the CherryPickers because I have opened mine less than 5x in 3 years. I would suggest having an inclination of what a person wants the hobby to provide them before spending the money on one and as for the Red Book I do not have one but most information it holds can be found online. I would also add that many folks, when roll hunting as a newbie, find it to be valuable advice to sort then seek. Ie, sort your Cents by year first, if not also MM, that way you look at coins that should pretty much look the same one after the other so when something IS different it pops out at you.
Don't y'all start on me now, dagnabbit. I are what I are.

My attempts at humor are probably not welcome, mostly because they fail so often. I think it stems from the fact that I don't take coin collecting all that seriously, whereas a lot of others look to it for a source of income in all kinds of different ways, whether dealing in coins professionally, or from seeing YouTube videos and hoping they struck it rich, or any of the wide spectrum in between. @Regilyn, I hope you find the NGC price guide, figure out how grading works, etc. I would have probably hung onto the slightly misaligned 1983 for a while too (if that's what you noticed), and I apologize for my flippant response.
@kbbpll See my attempts are also unwelcome, kind Sir. I too say 'crushing the hopes and dreams... ' regularly. I'll tell you who has zero sense of humor. Lmbo! Aiy, nevermind. I've just been welcomed back so I am not going to tease anyone.

Ima change my answer and swear that top is indeed a Small Date. Yep, sure enough I do believe it is.

See, I always just jump to the LIBERTY, which says they are both a Large Dates and I can tell because the LIBERTY is clear and well struck..

Good to see you back. I’m glad you had some nice things to say about us (I think) on Facebook. (Sometimes a spoon gets forked, right?) I’ll never see anything on Facebook because I refuse to play by Zuck’s rules. I really hate that guy. He’s evil on steroids.
Well I spend more time in meme #1 because of meme #2. And if there were some other site I could have all my FB Friends in I'd go there instead. I am currently in for 60days which I didn't even know was possible abd is why I am forced to have multiple pages

Welcome back KH! I think all of the Variety doubles and OMM's with lincolns has peoples hopes up a little high. I can look at a doubling event with a blown up pic that is provided and still not see hardly anything, almost every Lincoln has something going on. I think all of you have done a fine job, and a respectful one as well. Amazing patience with the barrage of never ending doubling questions. Thanks.
Hey, I recently found an unlisted 54 Lincoln RPM! I still haven't sent it in but I will. I just keep forgetting.

Thanks guys. My crazy stirs up at times, I suppose. Hey listen, I just made a FB post and I wanted to share it you guys too because it was kind of about you all. And JKK too and some others that are gone now. Anyway, I have been learning a lot more and have found that I have a knack for identifying obscure coins and tokens. If you can imagine that. Anyways, here's my post:.
So I recently joined a new coin group and I freaking KNOW that I was not as spoonid as most of these people when I started out. But I started in the NGC Chatrooms and they don't hold for any bullspoon there. You either get your spoon straight or get the spoon out. I need to thank them for that. On the other hand, this group has some great sellers of coins who appreciate the other collectors and don't try to gouge you every chance they get like the sellers on ebay.
So thanks for helping me learn what I needed to know these past couple of years.

Wow. Who'd have thought it. Idek most of you yet you took the time to comment here and you seem to know me, maybe well.
I came to get my thread about the IAP to school a young lady in one of my FB Groups and admittedly got myself lost in the forum again. Eventually worked up my gumption to check for notifications and found you all here. You have nearly left me speechless, seeing that anybody even cared, NEARLY, we all know that I have likely never been speechless, so I hope we can move on from here with no hard feelings and no private messages? Please?
Has anybody ever heard anything from Mohawk?

@KarenHolcomb Cents are their low mintage 467213 for the proof one, 281836 for the unc one and 332334 for the one that came with the 99% silver set. So Our grand kids could have good coins there.
We must think alike. I too am saving these Coins for my GrandDaughter. Hopefully they will help her to gain a higher education in a few more years.

@Rummy13 about the photos being too big, I have found that if it says too big if I only do 1 at a time they will go through, although I have had to upload one and submit and then do the next as a comment and again and again
Thanks @Mk123. I am super stoked to have the 3 Lincoln's and the Silver set. 99.9% now so being relatively new at this I really wanted that 1st year.

@Rummy13 you Sir do not sound like a Newbie to me and could probably help the others out more than they can help you. Sounds like you have one heck of a collection going. I am envious.
@Frank dabank those are some mighty nice Lincoln's you found. I rare find anything nice and red in circulation. Occasionally yes. Never 4 at once. Also an FYI here: the only year Philadelphia put a Mint Mark on their Cent Coins was 2017, so any penny minted at that facility for any year other than 2017 will not have a MM at all. Denver, San Fran, and West Point will always have their mark, with the exception of just 1 or 2 years for SF and WP. I do not know those years off the top of my head but I think it's 1996 for WP and were for Lincoln's made...no, no, no. That was Dimes struck for Roosevelt's Bday or something. So see how easily I can get mixed up? Lol! Anyways these soecial no MM coins are supposedly big secrets of the Mint and are sometimes hard to find info on. I'm sure someone here in the Forum knows which years for which Mint facility.

Dude....how could you? You opened up a can of worms with this one. Lol! Just teasing. There's no such thing.

So can we Newbies do a 'Post Your Most Recent Acquisitions' here in this room like they do in the experts room? We could call it 'Show And Tell' and they might not even notice. I know I have never been comfortable showing off there and plus there's like 1000's of entries and there aren't any here in the Newbie Room. So I say let's do it! But only cause I got a pretty cool Christmas gift from that guy of mine. So let's see y'all's too, and if the Admins don't want it here they can remove it, right?
So Show and Tell Newbies! It'll be fun, fun, fun.
PS, Would you just look at my Christmas Dinner. Mmmmm....

@VKurtB oh now, a little excitement never did hurt me or you in life. Or did it? It is a DDR by the way. But I quit sending them in when he told me my CT Quarter was MD when there is nothing near it to be MD. I think he is, well nevermind, he just doesn't care anymore so I will let someone else get the credit for this one.
My Momma always said if you can't say something nice then bite my tongue. Lol!

@kbbpll You sure do know how to use a girls words against her, huh. Just how would you know that I am from the Great State of West By God? Hmmm... But really I was merely being a smart spoon is all. Som6w of the guys are upset with me so I figure if I remind them how I can make them smile they will get over it. Yeah Baby!!! Good thoughts on my Lincoln. I'd have thought my buddy Lenny would have come up with either Polish or Abrading. He musta been having a bad day or else just wanted me to not feel too awful dumb. (Wonder if they will change my word?) Idt the coin is blobby, as you say. Who even says blobby anyway? Lmbo! Although you are correct, it is heavily Abraded and I am heavily disappointed. You crushed my dreams dude. Just kidding. I quit dreaming long ago. Merry Christmas to you and yours if I don't chat with again before then.

I would never have figured this out on my own. I only started noticing it being done about a month ago. Makes our threads much less sloppy, don't you think?

1982 penny large and small date help
in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Posted
Something I was told in my beginning is that if a Coin has one single PMD scratch the grade will not go higher than MS-63, so if it has neither a major Error or is major Variety then it is not worthy of sending in for grading. Now I'm sure there are exceptions to this but I would think they would only apply to a Coin that is either very old or very sought after.
