Silver Eagles with milk spots "Quick Fix"

We have heard quite a few complaints on coins purchased beautiful but spotted after placed in their safe a few years. Sometimes we don't have the time to pull the coins out and check them and when we do they are spotted. Most blame it on the safe and humidity or whatever. Well the fix for that is NCS for preservation of the coins. Some of the best collections in museums get spotted and are preserved on a regular basis.

I found a good reason for most spotting on our coins. As the coins are usually in slabs they leave a safe deposit box, go to the owners home, get sent to auction, then finally purchased and shipped to your house and then to your safe deposit box. Now adding the movements up on the previous sentence a slabbed coin goes from heat to cold at least 5 times in-between owners. The coin would look perfectly fine when you receive it but there would be a small amount of moisture drying up on the coin when you get it. This should make a dry milk spot or yellowing spot in time. I realized this a while back when I took a few slabs outside the house to do pics. The inside of the slabs fogged up with the quick temperature change. A few minutes inside again and the slab was clear again. I'm sure to see some spotting in the future on those as with others and will send them into NCS for preservation and re-slab if it bothers me enough.

It is our job as the caretakers to preserve as well as collect.
