Can you name the mystery Mint described in this Journal?

Can you name the only U.S. Branch Mint that was ever captured and occupied by an invading foreign army, or the U.S. Branch Mint that was the scene of one of the largest and most fiercely fought battles in U.S. Military History. Here is another hint; In 1936 this mint struck a series of three commemorative coins many of thom were dumpted into the sea to prevent their capture by an invading foreign army. Final hint, this mint used an M Mint Mark.

To find the name of this mystery mint and learn about the historically significant coins produced there visit my USA/Philippines Type Set in the NGC Registry. http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=51257

Be sure to read the owners Description for the 1937 M Ten Centavos and 1936 M Pesos for additional history regarding our mystery Mint.
