It's a sad day for NGC World Registry Sets

The recent NGC decision to eliminate PCGS certified coins from World Registry Sets may help the NGC bottom line but it will definately hurt the hobby and the quality of World Registry Sets.

I was really disappointed to hear that effective January 31 2012 PCGS certified coins will be eliminated from NGC World Registry Sets. One of the most appealing aspects of the NGC Registry ( and why I found it superior to the PCGS Registry) was that it allowed both NGC and PCGS certified coins. I always thought that by allowing certified coins from both of the major grading services in their sets NGC was taking the moral high ground as opposed to PCGS's self serving policy of restricting their registry to coins that they had certified. Its sad that NGC decided to adopt the same self serving policy. The quality of the NGC World Registry Sets will definately suffer when all of the finest known examples of World Coins can not be included. I wonder how long it will be before NGC decides to exclude PCGS certified coins from US Registry Sets.
