I have no affinity for labels...

Yes! So now we can have 'First Releases' in addition to 'Early Releases.' NGC, PCGS, and other graders are in the business of grading and as long as there are collectors craving more labels, they can generate that much more revenue with different labels. We, the collectors, determine the demand for these labels, they are the suppliers. There was a time when home builders went by the dictum "Build it, and they will come." And then the housing market went bust. Currently, the fad in the numismatic community favors different labels. The grading companies simply build more lables and it helps them generate more business. I remain unimpressed by these variety of labels. Sure some look prettier than others. But why sell me an ugly label and then come up with a pretty one just to entice me to buy that coin again. I had the 1986 eagles long before the "First Year of Issue" labels were ever issued. But the new label did not entice me to buy the same coin again. But I am a seasoned collector now, and I am not easily drawn to the glitz and glitter of new labels. To each its own.
