I have a few opinions about the registry number one ranking. I have 4 number one rankings and I am torn as to how to proceed with my collection.
I would like to comment on 100caps journal entry. I now he is number 1 in 1866 mint set because I am number 2. Do I think he should withdraw his collection because he has been number 1? In my opinion, no. This doesn?t make me the real number 1. I am happy with that. I may never be number 1, but I don?t deserve the ranking. I will try hard to stay number 2.
I also think the number one ranking does not have to be the Top POP. The Olympic gold winner does not always break the world record, so are they the best? I think they are in the scope of that competition. The World Series Champion is not the team with the best record ever, just that year. For these reasons, I think the number 1 doesn?t have to be top POP coins, just compared to those in the competition.
I think it is a great idea to move a set to a ?Champions Set? category with some sort of award for those who have been number 1 for 3 years in a row. This will open up the category for the others but still give recognition to those that have worked hard to get it.
