Trusting one another & haven't been letdown yet!!! We are a part of a special breed of "human beings".

Greetings Collectors,

I just got off the phone with a fellow collector here and we struck a deal on a trade for all of the "original" bank wrapped rolls of coins I had pictured in a previous journal + 16 original rolls of Presidential dollars. This will be the 6th deal I have struck with a fellow collector and I just want to share that we collectors are a "special breed", a "rare breed" if you will. In that a "virtual" handshake is all that has ever been needed and that, in itself, is very unique.

I will say that the 1st time I did this, I was apprehensive. It wasn't thousands of dollars but we both shipped our trade, worth several hundred dollars, on the same day and two days later the both of us had our "respective" coins. The second time, I mailed my items one day ahead of my trading partner mailing his. I had a small twinge of "should I have done this, this particular way?? But his package got to him two days after I mailed it and the day after that, I received mine. Twice besides these two times, others have sent me via pay pal, once $3800 and on another occasion $4200, both times for an MS-70 two coin gold "Double Prosperity" set. A half ounce "gold eagle" & a half ounce "gold buffalo". This degree of trust is "getting on up there". Had I been a dishonest sort, I could have just "not" sent the goods. But I am a firm believer, that what "goes around" comes around". And even the thought of myself not holding up my end of the deal, never entered my mind. Those that don't live this concept, are individuals I feel very sorry for. I can't help but say, that a transaction of this magnitude, I'm not that sure I could have "swapped places". But the very idea that they trusted me, made me feel as good as almost anything that has ever happened to me. This is becoming, with each time, one more degree of trust, and I have to say, it's quite refreshing, to say the least. Now this coming transaction amounts to a great deal more than a "couple hundred" but "trust" in general, has been established and I am of the "mind-set" that people in our hobby, for the most part are a "as honest a bunch folks" as they come. I'm sure, I'm like the rest of you when in the past, a coin or coins have not been what the dealer/seller said they would be. A coin bought, that when sent off for grading, ended up being a cleaned example and sometimes even with the added "negative bump" as in "harshly cleaned". But we're talking dealers now, and the difference between a "dealer" & a "collector" is like "night & day".

So that's about all I have to say. But to be a part of a transaction that both parties are winners in, is like a blast of fresh air with a large dose of "sunshine" thrown in for good measure. Another item from a transaction of which I speak, came today. Below is a picture of the proof. A gorgeous "Alexander Westerfall" Refiners "old pour" 999 silver bar with a weight of 20.41 ounces. What a wonderful time to be a collector. And I just want to add, Ross, it was a pleasure speaking with you this evening and I do hope we can make more trades, far out into the future. And to the rest of you, as always,

Happy Collecting!
