Very In-expensive coins are very hard to pass on...

Greetings Collectors,

With several items being watched/followed on eBay, this is a coin that was up for auction that no-one made the starting bid on. I actually would have done so but it ended while I was out of town and away from the computer. I emailed the seller and asked if the coin was still available and if so I would offer "X". It took sometime for him to get back to me and after writing him for the second time, he responded in the affirmative.

It has some gorgeous rim toning on the obverse and also a pretty nice color combination on the reverse as well. It came in yesterdays mail and today I added the photos into my gallery. It is my 12th example of this date and mint and while it's the most common Franklin, when a Franklin halve gets to this grade it's far from common. If I ever buy another 1958-D, it will only be a coin that grades higher than this example.

As far as any other purchases, I have sold quite a few items in the last 30 days on eBay and have a little cash. I have only one more coin/coins to acquire and then I'm through again for a while. I only lack one mint roll of silver eagles in order to have one of each date from 1986 onward. I will hopefully be winning this last roll (the 1998) in the next 45 minutes. And not a moment too soon as silver and gold are up again today. My goal is to always be able to make up "20 complete sets" at any given time with all of these 20-coin mint tubes of Govt issued one ounce silver coins. Gold is $1293.10 and silver is at $20.16. A post from a while back when gold was midway between $1000 & $1100, I said that it wouldn't be very long when we would/could say that there was a "SHORT TIME" that gold could be had for between those two figures. But if you want to know the truth, Gold at now near $1300 per ounce is a great bargain and should always be considered, no matter what the price. AS I have said many times, "this ride is only beginning".

I leave you with a "full slab" shot of this '58-D Franklin but I have the close up, coin only pics in my gallery of my Franklin set #1. Happy collecting to all!
