Response to Poorly graded coins

Quality Control starts with every Submitter!!!

I, too, agree that there are far too many modern coins with First Day Issue that should not have been graded that well. Most dealers that send in bulk to NGC & PCGS never see the coins until they come back graded and even then never look at them let alone inspect the grade given. I have, on more than one occassion, returned a coin to a dealer because it does not meet the grading standards. I need to be proud of the coins I possess and knowing that one day someone else will own them. Everyone has to be concerned about the Quality Control of the coins and make everyone accountable. I don't know how to get around the bulk submissions from dealers but if you send in junk, you will get back junk as well. The only problem is most Dealers just pass them on to us, the consumer. I know it is time consuming to inspect every coin before they are graded but this would stop some of issues we have now. I, myself, do inspect every coin before they are graded. At $12.50 a pop...its foolish not to! When I get my graded coins back from NGC...The only surprise is when some coins did not grade as high as I first thought...:)
