We cannot share this dream....

...And perhaps it was meant that way. DM spins a great yarn and I enjoy reading them. With over 670,000 registry points, DM has certainly had some great finds and over the years has gained a world of experience and has even more amazing stories to share. This, however is not the point, because, as I mentioned earlier, I enjoy reading the adventures and the ongoing quest of DM. So, I will put this as eloquently as I can.....

... WHERE THE HELL ARE THE PICTURES ???

You mentioned in one of your august posts that you finally found/bought an 1898-s Barber Quarter after a long search.. graded MS65 by PCGS. We would all love to see this on the NGC wanted list with a big "CAPTURED" splashed across the front... showing that one of the top 15 had finally met its match!! OK... so I am getting carried away but DM, please, PLEASE, share some of those pictures with us.

What good does it do to have all these masterpiece coins and their equally impressive histories if we cannot put a face to the name. We would love for you to share some of those faces and dreams.

I do not mean, nor am I trying to single you out, as I just wanted to reply to your post. Look at the top names in the registry and very few of the top names have pictures scanned in. Many do not even have descriptions either. I wonder what is the point. All those stories to tell that will never be told.

You, DM, as well as the others at the top of the registry are a fountain of knowledge and we certainly enjoy reading your posts and we can enjoy part of your adventures on the coin trail by reading your descriptions, but it is kind of like watching one of those 3-D movies without the special glasses. You lose alot without the picture.

We great admiration of our registry masters, I am...

Respectfully,

Michael W. Cooper

I love thalers. This is from Austria dated 1766, XF. Dav # 1148 Crowned Arms KM 16. Bought on ebay about 2 years ago. Paid $80. which I thought was a decent price. One day soon I will have it put in a nice NGC slab and the world (mine anyway) will be fine once again.
