Keeping my children interested is something that I hope to keep in the family tradition.

My brother tried to get his kids into coin collecting. He got them to finish putting together a set of Memorial pennies. They completed it like it was a job, rather than an adventure. The quicker they got it done, the quicker they could go out and play. I want my children to get more out of it than that, so I give a little, and teach them as I go. I don't know if that will keep their interest, but we'll see.

I bought some coins from another grading company for my children to give away for christmas. They were less than $2.00 a coin and graded The 1976 P Kennedy Half Dollars as MS 70. I was teaching my daughter to grade them. Not a single one was was even close to being MS 70. I pulled out an NGC MS65 Kennedy to compare them to. The NGC was a much better coin. Now mind you, she is only six, but her comment was "Who grade these junky old coins as perfects?"

My son is 4 years old. Last week I was going over some coins with my daughter. He asked me where his coin was. He said "I want a coin." So I gave him a graded coin from a grading company fitted for a 4 year old. They claimed that it was an MS 70 as well. funny how all of these other grading companies can find perfect coins from a pile of S***!

Anyways, if anyone knows tricks to keeping small kids interested in coins, plz let me know.
