Pending German coin grading from the ANA, NGC failure to acknowledge world coins in the Registry and the continu

ANA is certification/class on grading German coins is pending, NGC has failed the Collectors Society members by denying world coins (which they grade to be placed in the Registry and last but not least the horrors of counterfeit coins being sold continues unabated.

I recently had an e-mail conversation with ANA Board member (there is no need to name him now, if you would like his contact information. I do not know how fellow NGC Community Members feel about NGC Registry, but it totally ignores European Coins and for that World Coins period. NGC makes a large bank roll from grading European and World Coins, but for some strange reason they have decided to totally ignore European and world coins. Only U.S. and apparently Canadian and certain specified UK Medals and Swiss Shooting medals.

The list on non-U.S. coins is posted on the NGC website. I wrote a message to NGC about the absurd choice to ignore a large portion of the NGC Community Members that are heavy European coin collectors and would like to add them the NCG Registry. The obtuse reply I received mentioned the non-U.S. coins list in the first paragraph. I would like to have all members that have are active collectors and graders to call, write or email NGC and tell them that we do not want to be ignored any more. PCGS allows any coin or medal they will grade to be listed in their registry, this is why I am also a member or PCGS (Note: You man only register coins world or U.S. that have been graded by PCGS in their registry, where NGC will allow PCGS U.S. graded coins to be entered into their registry). If fellow members feel like I do, please do not just contact NGC about this once and hope for a change, make it clear that we are going to call, write, or email. Do not stop until we change this policy that makes not sense. NGC stands for the Numismatic Grading Company not the U.S. Coin Grading Company. NGC policy forces us to have our world coins graded with PCGS if we want recognition to the time, money and effort in collecting and grading fine world and European coins.

Back to my exchange with the ANA board member in charge on training put on my ANA. I suggested that ANA start seminars? in grading German coins. The German Royal States, Imperial German States, National Socialist Workers Party, and current Federal Republic of Germany have produced by far the greatest variety of coins and medals than any 4 European Countries. I suggested that ANA start German Coin Grading classes/seminars. This suggestion was greeted with enthusiasm and appears that it is going to happen.

Now all Numismatists in the U.S. should be members of the ANA. They offer quite a bit for quite a reasonable annual fee. You can also do multiple years or life memberships. I have volunteered to help with the forming of this class/seminar and I would like all NCG member to join the ANA and those that have been collecting German coins for years and have knowledge on how to determine the grade of a German coin or how to detect counterfeits, I would like you all to join me in forming a top shelf education course.

If you have read any on my postings before you already know that education is the only way to protect yourself from far from honorable dealers. Much to the chagrin of EBay patrons EBay has done a horrible job on policing coins sellers and I will take any bet that there are several counterfeit coins for sale on EBay right now. I have even seen coins in counterfeit NGC, PCGS and ANACS holders. For brevity I will leave it at this, but if you buy from EBay long enough you will end up with counterfeit coin. Some of these sellers are just reselling counterfeit coins they bought on EBay thinking whole heartily the coin they are selling in genuine.
