20th Anniversay Silver Dollar Set

I ordered two sets of the 20th Anniversary Silver Dollar Sets from the U.S. Mint. My order went to backorder, "great" does that mean I won't get them? A few days later, my wife received an advisement from the Mint about the 20th Anniversay sets, she ordered two sets and they went on backorder!

The months went by and I was able to read and hear about NGC's instructions on how to submit Anniversay sets for certification. (What?, I can't open the boxes from the Mint and enjoy my new precious coins, someone else gets the pleasure!)

One day there was a knock at the door. The mailman was there with a box from the mint. I quickly made out my paperwork and sent the box off to NGC, hoping it contained my Anniversary coins, I wasn't expecting anything else! A few days later there was a another knock at the door and another box from the Mint. I carefully placed it upon a shelve until I could send it to NGC. I kept feeling my precious calling, and could not take it anymore! I quickly filled out the paperwork and sent that box to NGC for grading.

Yesterday, I received the first Anniverisay coins back that I had submitted. Two of the coins were perfect (precious) and the other four had defects! To me, proof coins are girls and mint state boys. Two of the girls were perfect and two of the girls had problems, as did the boys.

One of the Reverse Proofs was PF-70 and one of the Proofs W was PF-70 UC. The other girls were PF-69 and PF-69 UC, while the boys were MS-69.

My wife came home and looked at the coins and said now you need to take them down to the bank and put them in the safe deposit box! I said, "What" we didn't put our children in a box when they first came home! I lost.

So tomorrow I will take our precious coins down to the bank and put them in a box and them into a dark hole where they will rarely see the light of day again!
