Another Turn Around Story

Is it ok to pay for a 12 day turn around and have it take weeks longer. How about a 21 day order that consistantly takes months to

receive. I feel like I'm a reasonable collector. One who is patient and understanding. However poor service eventually wears down the most positive of attitutes. I have submitted 28 orders for grading and encapsulating; literally hundreds of coins. I know I'm a small operator when one considers the people who send in hundreds of coins at a time.... but at the speed of service I am receiving, I'm barely an operator at all. I NEVER have the coins I need to sell in a timely manner.

Coins I submitted on October 30 will be shipped on December 21 at the earliest. A 21 day service that actually takes at least 39 working days. That's 53 calander days. An oder of 5 Early Birds arrived at NGC on October 30, it is now November 14, two days past the time they say it will take and the coins are not even scheduled. I'm paying $30 a coin to get it graded fast because I need it back in the time NGC says they can get the job done. It will be at least another week before I see these coins. A week past the stated actual time NGC claims Early Birds are currently taking.

The whole process wears me out, makes me look bad in the eyes of my customers and severely slows down my cash flow to a crawl. I was lead to believe that NGC was going to improve their service once they completed the move to a much larger facility. The move is over....The service still sucks...

There's Got To Be A Better Way!!!!! The folks at PCGS tell me they are much more dependable, even predictable. I've got to admit I'm skeptical.... But what do I have to lose? The cost of membership is nothing compared to the "REAL" cost of doing business with NGC. If PCGS can actually deliver when they say they will, I'll be ahead of the game; maybe even satisfied.

I just received the PCGS packet today. As a new member I will send out my next order for grading and slabbing to PCGS. This will be a test. My first attempt to get what I pay for from the other guys. I get a chill of excitement rolling up my spine just thinking about it.

Take a look at my Signature Collection "War and Conflict." I know I will eventually have to draw some perameters around the breadth and width of this collection to give it a move defined structure and also one that is realistically do-able, but I have a good start.

More to come when I get the results from PCGS. Steven's Collectibles's
