I seemed to have ruffled some feathers, but I didn't miss the point in the body of my post, only failed to mention it in the teaser for the post.

In my last post, along with my discourse on value added via the use of options was the following sentence: "If they start to rate PCGS coins any lower, the value of our options will diminish." So I didn't miss the point nor were my arguments "misdirected" as another poster has suggested. Should NGC award lower points for PCGS coins? In my opinion that would be worse than having a registry for NGC coins only. Then you are calling into question the validity of PCGS authentication. Both NGC and PCGS are well regarded for their objective grading. You can't be objective by downplaying the other graders' authentication. Wouldn't it be ironic to know that your PCGS coins are worth hundreds more in the marketplace but gets lower points in the registry. Perhaps NGC should just have an NGC registry. Perhaps we need a Super-registry for coins from all of the well regarded grading services. But wait? NGC already has such a registry, and that is why I like it so much. PCGS has it wrong in their registry, NGC has it right. And I love it. And I would really hate to see NGC adopt even a hint of the snobish attitude that PCGS has. 'Nough said.
