To cross or not to cross.
Oh! Those pre-registry days, and I was swept away by the turbulence that ICG had brought to the calm seas of TPGs.
It was the time before registry sets, long long ago, that ICG came into the TPG scene, with their promise of independent and fair grading. I was swept away by the storm ICG had brought to the calm of TPG seas. So I ended up acquiring a lot of high grade ICG coins. But today, I am dissappointed by their lack of transparency. No population report, no registry. I still hear some good things about them in bulletin boards, but I mostly hear bad things. The PCGS (Collectors Universe) boards are really mean to ICG.
So what do I do with my ICG coins? Cross them over? That could be an expensive ordeal, with all the coins I have. Yet, I would like to hear from anyone with experience crossing over ICG coins to NGC. How did it turn out?
My other courses of action would be:
1) To sell them, perhaps at a deep discount to my initial outlay, as I have noticed that ICG coins are selling for much lower price (in open autions at eBay) than they used to before NGC registry came about.
or
2) To hang on to those coins in the event ICG does make a comeback, with those grading seminars at coin shows, etc.
And herein lies my dilemma (tri-lemma?)
