Just a little retirement activity

Durn coin shows, usually come home with more than I brought. Yup, durn sellers are hotter than me for sure, came home with a pacel of new coins and added them to my registry. Don't have time to list them, but many duplicates. Take a look if u like modern graded coins. Bring on the gold

Now I'm moving into sets. I have now added a few sets of gold all MS 70's I think I am going to shoot for some sort of set award. So I will add them in as soon as I can get them all in. Four sets of gold, the $50, $25, $10 and $5, of 2001, 2002, 2003, & 2008 to get me started. Some PCGS and some NGC. Pedigreed Coin Addition 1846 O $10 XF40

Adding a collection to my collection A Pittman I have been lured in again by a pedigreed coin. This one is of lower grade, but still a georgeous coin and I hope to get the picture added in soon. Should I grade all of these?

Should I or should I not? Only my grader knows for sure. I think I have discovered my real reason for messing with coins and paper money. It is the chase, the hunt, the quest for the holy grail as it were. Yes, I buy Ag and Au due to the investment fact I feel metals will rise in price enough to cover buying stocks and waiting for good news. Economically, I feel over the longer haul of 2 - 4 years, my bullion coins will surpass the best of the stocks and indices. BUT... It is the fun

Sets of PFUC AGEs 2001, 2002 and 2003

Betcha cannot eat just one! This is like eating potato chips. I was shopping for coins and put in a watch or want list somewhere. I wanted a set of PF70 AGEs and in less than a week three responses came in. Suspected coin with VARIATION

Once in a rare while, you find one, a rareish or fun coin While I do look hard for coins that are special or rarish, I was not looking for a quarter with a variation. This time it was true, or nearly.

I got it, a Bass Collection coin Today FEDEX delivered my Bass Collection 1903 S $5 MS66. It is a stunning coin, so bright and lusterous, I feel it should be rechecked for a higher grade, but I bet that has been done at least once. If it is too good to be true...

I am being offered a nice coin but too cheap. Is there something I do not know here about a coin being in the name of the collector? Does it make the coin more valuable? What have I done?

Went to a coin show, yikes! L@@k --> 1866 S $20 I went to the F.U.N. Show in Orlando as a dealer, and sold off a bunch of my coins, and added a few. One of the coins I am looking at is an 1866 S $20 Gold No Motto Type 1 Liberty 20 D. It's in AU 58 NGC population 7 and only two better. The last one went thru an auction as AU55 Jan/2007 at quite a high price. I would love to have the coin. Does anyone have any input as to its value? Back in the saddle again:

Finally, got some new coins after a long time away from market. I just added three new 1992 MS70 GAE $5's and a 1994 GAE $10 MS70...I will offer these at the F.U.N. Show in Orlando this coming week. I see the weakness in the price of gold and silver and believe fully in the resurgence of the physical prices. A 1940 Nickel with rays?

Only my coin dealer knows for sure. I get the magazine Reminisce. In an old issue from 2004, (August/September) page 46, there is a querry and picture of a 1940 Nickel which has rays emenating from the Montecello dome. three of them, one straight up, and two more, one either side of center emenating in about a 45 degree angle away from center. 'Proof like'

Is it real? Only my coin dealer knows for sure. I have been acosted twice now by a dealer I don't know to buy coins he says are NGC registered as 'PROOF LIKE' ' & using words like 'Premium Quality'. Trying to keep/catch up.

Puff wheeze wimper Well, looking for one coin to try to regain my sub 200 collection number. I am looking to do it on one base hit, and not have to go searching for numerous coins. I found an 1860 $2.50 Liberty Head, Old Reverse in MS64. The guy wants $10,500.00 for it. I looked thru the NGC Price guide, and came up with no information. Slipping Fast

Just when I take a break... Just when I take a break, everyone goes out and finds coins to buy and submarine my coveted 200th ranking, now I have disappeared into the fog at 213. Now, are they improperly cleaned? Attention all hoarders: I have just came into 6 Roman coins. Stuck in Neutral

Dear Dad, no mon, no fun your son... Well, all my funds for adding to my collection are used up. Any funds coming in, will be needed for taxes, ROTH IRA, and SEP IRA. Changing times

Times seem to be changing, or I am getting luckier. I found some new babies for my collection. Will be getting back my Morgans in a few more days, 14 of them, and two Olympics too, one proof and one MS. Also, I will be adding in my new St G 1909 MS64, and a few golden oldies. These will be the first new additions to my registry since a while back. B E W A R E the fakirs, charlatans and dementors (2)

Coin holders beware of fakes. To the discerning eye, a fake or 'non-standard' coin holder or slab is readily apparant. So this journal is probably focused on the new collector who has not yet been fooled by the negative elements of our society. They don't always use the top grade as the one in the picture herein. This holder looks VERY much, too much like the NGC holder. NGS is NOT a recognized guarantor of quality, although the coin therein may be real the grade is much suspect. I bought

Acorns to Oaks, or should it be "coins in the fountain"?

Mint and Proof sets, a stack of them... Should they be graded? I have Proof sets, Eisenhower Dollars, dated 1776-1976 with the Kennedy half, and the usual shrapnel that accompanies them, [quarter, dime, nickel & penny].
