About this journal

All bullion coins are minted at West Point, NY.  The S mint mark is a scam to make people think they are getting something special, at double, or triple the going price of a real Silver Eagle. In effect, the "S" coin is a phony, and doesn't have a place in the Registry. "Minted at" coins fall into the same category. The label can say anything they want.....even the Sheboygan Mint!

NGC removed the other coins, this one has to go also.

I too laid out hundreds of dollars only to have them erased, such  as the "2000 Millennium" ASE. Another gem that we "had" to have.  They won't pay   those coins we now have to eat.

and you doubt an NCG grade! Hello everyone! I just got this nice 1965 NZ penny back from PCGS. I sent 4 in the OGP. Three graded as MS64, and this. I'll leave it to the experts. I personally think they blew this one!

I guess you cannot ever be sure of anything? Hello everyone! If you're planning to go to Illinois for the FDOI, 2010, Lincoln cents with the shield reverse. FORGET IT!!! A bag of 5000 is already out, rolled, and being found in circulation. You may have to go to Puerto Rico instead. That's where they have them. Ebay has them too(so I am told)! So much for mint security. Just wait until you see a few 2009 PF and MS Eagle pop up. I guess there truly is no honor among anyone......anymor

NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO? - - - - - - - - - - NOT!!!

Check out the difference Hello everyone, I just checked out a set of 2009 Lincoln cents from NGC in PF69. I bought them from a dealer for less than $40.00. I just looked at them in our relatively rare sunlight. YUK! My last post has a scan, through the OGP, of a Canadian coin that is flawless. Flawless at 200X, that is. I am sending it in to be graded. MY FIRST 70 OF THE NEW YEAR

THE OBVERSE IS OBVIOUS

There is a better way! Hello Everyone, Why, all of a sudden, are we worried what eBay does? They just want the extra $0.15 for the second image. I will only use the obverse of my graded coins for sale. It has all the information, as well as the serial #. If eBay doesn't like it, I'll put it on eBid for free. SANTA GOT HERE EARLY!

I can melt all my Eagles now. Hello everyone! We all collect metals taken from the Earth. What is done with them is quite amazing. I've had platinum and gold. I never had a silver bar. I've had aluminum and tin cans. I have worked all year on a pre-decimal penny set from NZ. I chose NZ as no one was interested in a few lousy half silver,cupro-nickel, and copper coins. I MISSED OUT BY 1 COIN!

I looked for a nice one , but........... Hi everyone! I hope all enjoyed the Holiday. I have been busy trying to image the missing few in my sets. My NZ 1d set will be ahead by 1 point whenever NGC gets the certification from PCGS. This is going to be a close one. I wanted to enter my NZ half crowns, but the 1961 wasn't really a beauty. HEY W.K. F. PART II

I wouldn't want to have it graded. Hi all again, Back to the half crown. I'd say it would be a fine (F). 1928 has such a high mintage, there has to be BU/UNC coins available. The image of the one I did, is a "cupro-nickel" coin. It is BU, and not worth much more than yours. I am sending the obverse of mine to show how much definition there is. Again, I hope this helps. I'M ALL DONE!

If I don't have them done by now............ Hello all, I've been really busy doing the homeowner thing and sending a fewcoins to be graded. I can now enter my coins into two registries, but it's tough to compete here. I have a few I wish had been better, but after all, I chose to let PCGS grade them. I do have a great 1d set. I am hoping for a #1 there. It's tough to compete against NGC dealers. It's even tougher to get honest grading. I may even have to use a few NGC slabs to edge out my

BUY A CHEAP SCANNER!

In my opinion,it's the best for less. Hi all! If I wasn't on W.K.F's iggy list I could offer an option. A few of us, on limited budgets, had the same imaging problems. I personally bought a Epson, Perfection V300 Photo, scanner. I got it(new)on eBay for $74.49 shipping included. It isn't like a pro's studio camera, but I am happy with it. Installation is a snap and it will take some shots a Hasselblad never thought of. Another Society member has a Canon he got at a garage sale for $3.

RETALIATION?

My details graded coins are still "scheduled for grading?" Hello everyone, I guess I will never get them done. They are already temporarily entered into slots, but big deal. A DEALER'S LIFE

It must be nice. Hello everyone! I just got through looking at a submission by a dealer. I'm glad to see that 50% of his coins were rejected for the rubber stamp issues. Some of those graded are bad. If I had a hint of green, I'd get the "ED" label. I wonder how many he submitted as a UNC were graded as AU? Shoot, he had to pay for something. I guess the don't have to pay for anything ungradable. If they send in 100 coins, you know they'll get some percentage good grades. They don't pay for

I GOT SOME BARNEY COINS!

If I were to sell them, I could buy eBay. Hello all! I have a 1945 NZ 1d Proof Penny. There were 10 minted. Someone broke it out of Daddy's collection and spent it. Sure there are a few nicks, like bag marks, but it still has all the original luster. It is now in a purple slab as a "polished" coin. I guess I have to send in my 1995 W Silver Eagle for regrade? PRIORITIES?

From coin collector to junk collector. Hello all! I guess the purple craze is catching on. Some of us figured it would be the easy way out on coins that deserve a grade. It looks like incompetence, or backlog, mandates a speedier way of getting coins on their way. I'd rather wait a month to get an honest grade. I didn't mind NGC's, 10-12 days for a grade. What I do mind is sending a proof coin to have an ugly fingerprint removed(done well), and having it come back as a "polished" coin. I
