I happen to think they are very nice and Professional I also have been collecting for a few years (50 plus) I also have three degrees (they do not make your IQ go up, only your ego) I am also a member of NGC and PCGS. Now on to my personal dealings with NGC, I think they are very professional, very nice people to talk to on the phone and quite accurate in answers to questions I have had. I do hope that we can all have such experiences with people we deal with from day to day. But the answe

How Much is a coin worth.

One auction gallery has the following listing. And it goes on and on. I think it is because of the size of the population difference from NGC to PCGS This auction is for a 2002 FDR dimeSeptember 4, 2005 70 PCGS $103.50 Tuesday, March 8, 2005 70 PCGS $80.50 Tuesday, July 18, 2006 70 NGC $25.00 Tuesday, July 4, 2006 70 NGC $42.00

NGC and PCGS

Why is it that when looking at someone like Heritage Auctions and comparing the same coin that sold in an NGC holder vs a PCGS holder, the PCGS coin demands more money at sale. I have Studied several modern coins that are listed on the Heritage Auction site and five identical coins with the same identical grade the PCGS coins are getting sold for quite a bit more money. I personally only use NGC and like them very much. An occasional mistake but they are prompt to correct it. I just do not

Ran across an Interesting piece of Currancy

$25 Bill I have never seen a $25 Bill before and thought I might share this one with everyone. It is an 1837 Mississippi and Alabama Railroad Co. Note. (Soon after, Southern Railroad.) Came back from PMG as a Fine 12

How do you find the numbers

I have even e-mailed the mint. How many Proof Clad and Proof Silver States Quarters were actually minted and sold for each year. It is easy to tell how many have been graded, but knowing that probably leaves a huge number out there to appear one day and really melt down the now seemingly huge prices for coins that are not even 10 years old. I have PF70's in Clad and Silver, even both Delawares, but how do people justify these big prices. I started collecting these coins for my children, t

Red faced Roosevelt Dime

Rudolph the Red Nosed Dime I have a 2000 S silver Proof Roosevelt dime that the face has turned a rich rust RED color and Roosevelt's nose is really red. It is still in the original Mint proof case and came with a silver proof set. The raised areas (primarily the head) including the lettering has turned this Deep color while the cameo portion is 100% like normal. This seems strange to me. The picture is a scan and has some trash on the scanner and on the plastic case that the coin is in.
