ICG & ANACS? Oh, please....

Nice try with your "survey." I like how it came out to nice, even numbers. That suggests to me that either: 1) Only 4 people voted, including the pollster, or 2) Its totally made up. Why don't you start a poll in the forums and we'll see what the real vote is? I suspect it will come out much different. If it was up to me, NGC would be even more restriced than it is today, requiring at least 50% of the coins to be NGC-holdered in order to participate. That would eliminate all the P

My 2? on turnaround times...

I do not want NGC to sacrifice quality for timeliness. Lets start off by saying that, yes, I would like to get my submissions back faster just like anyone else. Yet I for one would rather wait an extra week if the alternative would be an inferior product. NGC has good QC (yes they make mistakes but they are few and far between) but to increase the speed of the "production line" would have a detrimental effect on quality. That is a given and is beyond dispute. Look at it this way, you coul

As long as we're talking about Stars

What is the rationale for limiting the NGC Star Designation to coins grading 63 & above? Looking at it logically, shouldn't the Star Designation be available to coins of all grades? Haven't we all seen butt-ugly AU-58s and also extraordinary ones? Even in the lower grades, aren't some coins just spectacular for the technical grades, while others are nothing special? I think the Star would be a great way to differentiate these coins. Here's a coin that can never qualify for a Star un

The PCGS invasion....

I applaud NGC for having the courage to allow PCGS coins in their registry but..... Frankly I really don't want to see all these 100% PCGS registry sets that seem to be popping up like some sort of disease around here. If you want to put together one of these sets, there's a great place to display them... across the street. I think NGC should institute some sort of requirement that a percentage of your set needs to be in NGC holders to participate in the NGC registry or signature sets. Wha

Type Sets

Don't like the canned sets? Make your own signature set! NGC gave you this wonderful gift. Why not use it? Here's what I did with the US Type Set. I was actually on the opposite end of the issue. I didn't like that the US Type Set excluded gold issues so I made my own Signature Set to compensate for what I perceived as a shortcoming.   In addition, to pare down what would have been a huge set, I decided to limit it to major design changes and I also excluded modern issues. This made
