As the umpire said, "some are balls and some are strikes, but thet're nothin' till I call them."
Why send them in for grading if they are all the same? Right. That?s what NGC and PCGS said. The reason dealers send modern proofs to be graded by the thousands is because NGC and PCGS will grade only a small percent 70. These are the ones that sell for big money. Are these 70?s nicer than the common 69?s? Of course not. If NGC and PCGS gave an honest grade the vast majority would be 70. Bu
A PF 69 UC is worth $1940.
From an aesthetic point of view, if I have $1940 to buy proof half dollars I would get a nice Barber AND a nice Walking Liberty.

FDR SILVER 10C WITH GOLDEN TONED HEAD.
Reverse is golden rim toned. I also have a blond JFK from the same silver proof set. I received the set from the mint in 2002, no clue why it toned like this.

In every case, 140 different coins, the photos themselves are the finest I have ever seen.
This is a big book with glossy pages (168 of them). It gives current
Priority mail, delivery conformation is much faster.
I prefer Priority mail with delivery conformation. It can be insured and you can check delivery info on line. From Michigan to NGC is two days.
If you have insurance on your collection look to see if it covers mailing and save the postal insurance cost.
Did the mint issue some SMS sets last year?
