This year ends the Statehood Quarter program!
..2009 will have 6 Quarters Honoring; District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the United States Virgin Islands and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Proof Set 70.
..I was starting to believe that the Canada Proof sets didn't contain any PF 70's! Well, I was wrong, I received my first 70 after submitting four different sets.
..My youngest granddaughter will be one in April. Her and her mother come over one day a week to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma. When my granddaughter sees me, her face lights up and has a smile from ear to ear. If grandpa dosen't pick her up she becomes very upset. When I pick her up, I ask her if she would like
.Most awesome submission return!
..The quality of work that NGC and the U.S. Mint produce can be said in one word OURSTANDING! This was the largest submission that I've every submitted to NGC. The results were just AWESOME! I submitted forty coins and twenty-five percent returned perfect MS-70!!!
...I know, some of you are saying it's just bullion. I say, it's BULLION ART! I'm sure when people started collecting Morgan dollars some just said it's only silver. Just think if your Great Great G
Just received from NGC.
..Well I now have the fourth coin for 2007! When I started this set it looked like it would be just one year type set. Congress passed a law and President George Bush signed it, requireing the U.S. Mint to take In God We Trust off the edge and put it on the obverse or reverse ASP. When I was in the U.S. Air Force and later Civil Service, when I was told ASAP, that meant have it done yesterday. The Mint says ASAP means 2009.
..The Monroe coin to be released first this
Newest Addition
..I didn't understand and still don't know why Australia put out four coins last year and started a new coin this year. After receiving the newest coin, it looks to me that they have a new minting process!
Newest addition
..My wife said "it's so small"! I said, "I know, but size dosen't matter, it's the quality". What is it they say, Gold is where find it.
..I can't focus in on one series, so I have to obtain what I can afford.
Received yesterday 7 Feb 2008!
..My 2008 Proof (Clad) Statehood Quarter set arrived yesterday from the Mint. As a whole, I'm very impressed with this group more than any of the others. Now I'll have to put them in line to send to NGC for grading!
..The Mint is doing a great job when you think of all the groups and people telling them what to do. Can you think of any great accopmlishment that a Commimittee as done? All our past coins were designed by one or two people.
My order was received 5 February 2008!
NGC has my order already scheduled for grading. The folks at NGC just continue to do a great job. I'm not concerned about time, I just want QUALITY!
Just back from grading at NGC.
..Another work of Art from the Canada Mint.I guess they don't have committees telling them what art is. They seem to produce their coins for the people and they have meaning.
Just back from grading.
..Isn't it nice that Canada would put out a coin honoring us old folks! We can sit back in our rocking chairs and enjoy this beautiful art. Just think, if you live long enough, you'll be old also.
Just back from grading
..This is my newest addition to my Canada Aviation Series! NGC continues to do an excellent job. Canada has a rich history of aircraft, this series has helped me understand Canada better.
..It would be great if the U.S. Mint would do a series on United States air history!
Just back from grading by NGC!
..Pardon my French, but this coin is &@X*%@# BEAUTIFUL! Canada and the United States both have a rich history with the people of France. Collecting this series has been very rewarding and educational, these coins are GREAT.
..Collectors Society has a outstanding series of coins to collect and I don't understand why more members aren't involved with this set?
Submission back from NGC and in the den.
..I have found this series to be a fun one to collect, but it hasn't been producing the Top grades that others provide. When I look at other dens and on EBay top grades are short in the early years but get better in the latter years.
..The one I have pictured today is one of twenty-five thousand worldwide.
Actually, a submission return from NGC.
..I started collecting certified Silver Eagles in 2004 then, and still now some dealers and collectors don't think much about them as worth collecting! What they are missing is there is a new generation of collectors. They collector what they like and know.
..The Silver Eagle is a beautiful coin and will become more popular as time goes by. My goal was five sets of Proof Silver Eagles, one for me and one for each of my children. Also, I wanted five set
Since I started with Binions, why shouldn't my first VAM be a Binion!
I purchased this VAM in 2004. My schooling in coin collecting has been very costly, I'm sure I over paid for this coin! But, you have to start somewhere and hopefully you learn from your mistakes and will make better choices.
A must have series!
..When I first started collecting Morgan dollars, I jumped in with both feet. I looked around to see what would set me apart from other sets, so I sarted with Binon's. I felt if I obtained all that I could I would be set. Then I discovered Redfield, Fitzgerald, Richmond and on and on and on. I looked at what I had and could see I was going no where. So, I decided I only need one coin for each date and mint mark and started to pare my collection now.
..Then I became aware
Coin Collecting
..Well it's a new year as far as coin collecting is concerned. This past year has been fun and educational. NGC and my follow collecters are just great! I've enjoying reading ALL the journal entries and looking at your outstanding collections.
..My goal is to complete some of my sets before going after new series. But, with my ADD I have a hard time focusing on only one goal.
..I've started the new year off with this perfect coin.

My approach to collecting!
....Hey, pardner, you'd have to type me as a shotgun type of collector. Most certainly when it comes to coins! My lady and myself have two rules when it's about collecting, #1 Collect what you like or enjoy and #2 have a place for it.
....Coins are usually easy to store, just need a large enough safe deposit box or safe. Plus, when can you have to many coins?
....I started collecting the Australia Lunar coins before I even knew about certified coins. I was collec
I didn,t see this one coming!
....Here I sat, Fat, Dumb and Happy! I had completed my goal and now could compete with the big boys. I was tied for 1st Place in the Australia Lunar Series, I would just need one coin a year for the next three years. The 2008-Rat, 2009-OX, and 2010-Tiger then I could just sit back and watch the awards.
....I was so happy, I jumped up on my chair, pounded my chest and called for Jane (actually Mary)! She flew in like a Queen. I said me Clay, you Mary look at our
I read an article in Coin World that I found very interesting!
....The U.S. Mint and General Mills ran a promotional program, where 5,500 Sacagawea 2000-P dollars were placed at random in Cheerios cereal boxes. The reverse was struck from dies that were different than the circulation and annual collector sets. A collector got one on EBAY recently for $9,999.99!!!!!!!It was a PCGS MS-66.
....Now, I don't know about you, but I've never found anything in a cereal box that was worth anything. I
Great gifts!
....My oldest granddaughter got married this past weekend, 3 November 2007. One of the gifts we gave her and her new husband, was a 2000 Millennium Set (Silver Eagle NGC MS-69 and Sacagawea NGC MS-67). Only 75,000 sets produced, it makes a great gift.
....When I joined the Collectors Society, and found out you need the Millennium Silver Eagle to have a complete set I set out to get one. I haven't been able to find a MS-70 that I could afford. So I've sent 15 different sets in t
Searching.
....My quest to complete the three Canada collections I'm working on has been very enjoyable. Like all journeys, you can expect some dragons to try and stop you from reaching your goal!
....The Canada Aviation series is going well, the hardest part is finding them! But with time and money the goal is reachable! The Canada Lunar collection at this time has one dragon standing in the way, The 1998 Tiger! It's obtainable, just a matter of how much you're willing to pay. At least thes
Refered to by Jackson!
....I had a chance to stop by and see Cadmanco's So-called Dollars collection, suggested by Jackson! Here again is an amazing collection that will take many visits to enjoy. I've been having so much enjoyment looking at all the collections and passions involved, and it's free!
....This is my lastest addition to my Australia Lunar Collection! My wife was born in the Year of the Rooster, so it is only fitting she has the best!
